When you get a set that is mostly minifigures, it sort of begs to be turned into a Dance Party. This little stop motion video was made from the new Lego set “Fun in the Park” 60134.
That video gave me a few hours of playtime and fun, so perhaps the set will be of similar interest to you…lets get into the details:
If you have dined-in at a fast food restaurant at some point in your life, you have likely noticed that everything you order comes individually wrapped up and placed on your tray just the same way as it would if it was ordered at the drive through. By this I mean, your burger/chicken sandwich is in a paper wrap or cardboard box, your fries are in a cardboard caddy, your nuggets are in paper or cardboard, your cookie is even in a tissue. And if you are like me, the first thing you do is open up the sandwich, unfurl its wrapper, dump the fries/nuggets on to join the sandwich, and start your meal.
The proposal is simple: Have an OPTION at fastfood joints to request Eco Wrapping for Dine-in customers where the food is minimally packaged. For instance, 1 sheet can be placed on the tray, the burger, fries, and chicken, cookie, whatever, can be placed directly on that, and you will immediately start to reduce waste.
*Despite the graphics, the initial proposal is not to adopt glassware or silverware for dine-in customers, but at the initial onset, to at least reduce all the little cardboard and paper containers that food comes in. Continue reading →
A friendly Lego guy jumps secretly into action to help out a poor sap who has misplaced his keys.
I had a Saturday free once and decided I would try making a stop motion animated Lego video. My plan was to mix live action and stop motion. This is the second time I’ve tried this, but the first time in the era of digital cameras. Using my digital camera really sped up the work on this little project. A major take away from doing this little short was next time, I’ll film stop motion at night using artificial light so that the sun and clouds do not interfere with the lighting for ever frame. Some thing you might not figure out by watching is how I got the car to do jumps. I actually rigged up a pole over head and used fishing line to dangle the car. It would turn a little, so I would sit poised at the camera until the moment the car was facing the exact direction I wanted.
Another little detail was how I filmed this alone when my wife was out of town. When she came home, I had her go upstairs, and filmed her lines using the camera down stairs to get the audio to sound right.
I know the whole video is a little rough, but I think it came out fairly well.
We all know babies don’t exactly see the world the same way we do. And there are certainly hundreds more differences between their unique viewpoint of the world and our own, but here are at least the first five.
I’ve seen all these behaviors from our baby, and if I draw up a few others, I’ll post them. If you think of more I should add, let me know in the comments or something.

Banana decides to inform Farquar of his recent casting in an upcoming community theatre play. The next installment expects to continue story line as Banana further considers his options.
The basic question: Is crawling style hereditary? For instance, my wife crawled “Normal” and I used the seated scooching alternative style. Our first born was nearing the crawling stage and we just assumed she would crawl “normal”. But alas, our daughter crawls with a seated scooch like her dear pop. So, did you and your baby crawl the same?
Of course if the baby’s parents crawled differently than eachother as children, then perhaps the baby took after only one parent or forged a new path entirely.

The first Farquar and Banana comic. This one is riddled with Backstory: At some point Banana used to wear a cape, and then stopped, and has obviously started wearing it again…all for unexplained reasons. And despite their tension, Farquar and Banana still walk off into the sunset together…BESTIES
Oish, thats a little rough, but the thought has occurred to me enough times that it was time to draw it. The witch and guy on the right are of particular fondness for me.
